Teaching Strategies
I'm currently reading this book. It has some good ideas in it. I'm trying to make teaching interesting both for my students and for me. In the past I have been bored and I know that my students have been bored in class. I'm trying to engage my students in active learning strategies. Really, I'm trying anything to keep myself from being bored to death as well. Teaching the same class for eighteen years can get old, but it is up to me to make it interesting and fun - not just for me but for my students. My goal is to incorporate at least one new strategy into my classroom a week. So far, I've tried three of them in only one week. The students seem to like more hands on activities. Even the ones who usually are blobs that refuse to work.
